You can here police sirens in the background with the sound of car horns. A man’s voice is heard saying “No sleep toe” this is said with some emphasis. (non digetic sound)
15-30 sec
A guitar sound is played loudly which dominates the sirens. Drums begin to enter with a deep beat. “No sleep to brockline” is said  in slow motion.

The music then fades away gently. You can hear 3 people talking in the background. One of the guys says to another “I want to play the bad guy”. At this point you cannot here any sound except for the verbal speech.

Composition Tips

Rule of thirds- One of the most popular 'rules' in photography is the Rule Of Thirds. It is also popular amongst artists. Imaginary lines are drawn dividing the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically. You place important elements of your composition where these lines intersect Using the Rule of Thirds helps produce nicely balanced easy on the eye pictures.

Nose room-means leaving space in the direction the person is looking. This way the viewer feels involved,in the scene.

Head room- you should always leave space between the head and the top and similarly between the chin and the bottom of the image. Otherwise it does not look good

Film Cover

This is our version of the film Hangover. As you can see we have cropped out two people and put our own primary image in. Looking at the color you can see it is very bright an eye catching. this will make users want to buy the film. The two colours are blended in to make the cover look more professional. At the bottom of the cover you can see a little caption "after watching this you wouldn't want to drink another beer again" this is a snappy phrase which will get users interested and to see weather the statement it true. We have made the cover look a bit old as the edges are rounded of. we have made the middle more brighter so the three men stand out. this shows that these are the main characters in the film. We took a close up shot of two people. we done this by using the cropping tool. Overall I think the cover suits our genre (comedy) as it looks funny because of the colours and the use of images.

Camera Height

The height of the camera has an effect on the meaning of a shot. in this type of shot you can have three levels, the lower leg, the middle, and the top. If you only show the persons feet there is a mystery. This shot is very good in horror movies. Bellow i have taken a photo of someones legs. people can have there own interpretation of what the person is doing. bellow is a picture of a persons feet who is looking to go into a door. If you use the upper body shot you discover more about the person but you still don't know who they are. however when the camera is bought up then you now and the mystery is resolved.

Multi-Level Action

The multi-level action shot consists of two shots to be taken. the purpose of this shot is so the audience watches one scene occur in the foreground while another occurs in the background.

Bellow you can see two pictures. one of them shows the outskirts of the school playground and the other is a picture of me looking at it. This is common in many films as it is an exciting way to bring together storylines and  is one of the easiest shots to do. putting two shots together can build a good story image. This shot is used constantly in action movies.

Feedback

Feedback
Some of the feedback I got from my peers was
-good layout
-very colourful and eye catching
- looks professional
Looking at the feedback I agree with all points. I think the layout was good as we used the space wisely. We didn’t waste anything, our pictures where big so it can be easily viewable. As our film poster was targeting the comedy genre we made it colourful by putting bright colours. Our poster did look professional as we cropped the bottom of the film cover of the original film and copied and pasted it onto our own one.

Using Photoshop

- Write about what you’ve learnt to do with Photoshop, which poster you chose to recreate in Photoshop and why, what you’re pleased with and what you did not manage to do for your poster, what you need to practise further/learn to do next time
During my media lessons I have learnt and developed new skills on Photoshop. I have learnt the benefit of making layers while designing something. I also learnt how to change the brightness of an image to make it darker which might imply anger and lighter which might imply happiness. When making our film posters I used this skill. This helped me create a film poster that went into the write genre. Furthermore I learnt how to outline a picture so it crops it exactly that shape. This was useful when I was designing my poster as then I could get an outline of a certain image. This helped my poster look more professional.
The poster I created on Photoshop was the hangover which is in the comedy genre. I thought my design was better than the other one as there were more things evolved in it. Looking at the finished poster there are many advantages relating to it. The poster looks professional and colourful. Looking at the original film poster and my one I think there’s a close resemblance. I did not manage to use one of the tools I liked to. This was a tool used to make the picture have sharper edges. As I have just learnt new skills on Photoshop I need to practise outlining a picture, as when i was doing it my outline was rather bent. Also for next lesson i will learn how to fade a picture into its background as this would look good for my poster.

Mise-en-scene of photo

This is a close up shot of a brown teenage male. He is wearing a dark black jacket implying he is going out maybe to a party or to school. The background shows that he could be in a sunny atmosphere as it is rather light.

He spikes his hair implying he cares about the way he looks and always tries to look his best. The sunny atmosphere is evidential as there is a lot of greenery which means the place he is in is rather sunny. The greenery in the background implies he is outside.

There is no facial expression shown in the picture e.g. a smile. This shows that this was a picture taken for no reason. This could also mean that he is stressed, or he simply did not want the picture to be taken. Also you can see on the side of his head is much brighter than the other side because of the sun. He is wearing a shot inside which may imply that he is going somewhere important as he looks very casual.

Enemy of state questions

What is the point of this sequence? Describe briefly how tension is created through the editing.

In this clip the tension is created by short clips and the background music. Also the dark atmosphere adds to the tension because of the dull colours used. The music is very fast which builds tension. The point of the sequence is to give us an idea of how the government controllers while we don’t realise. This gives us an idea of what the film is about.

Look at the use of CU or Medium CU. Why are they primarily used here? Refer to specific shots

This shows the actor (will smith) is feeling depressed an sad to something he has just discovered. The director has filmed it like this to give us some feelings of depression. This builds the mood of the film. It makes the film more interesting as the actor revels emotion.

Choose 15-20 seconds from anywhere in the sequence and describe each shot in detail, explaining its effect / function for the audience, as well as commenting on how the cuts (the editing) adds to the meaning.

I have chosen timings 1:33-1:50 as during;this time there are several types of shots used. The most common is the close up shot of will smith. This shows that will smith has authority over others and that he is the main character in the film. Also it shows how important the situation is. Furthermore the editing of the cuts help create a mood and atmosphere. This is good because it keeps the viewers interested in the film.

How far does the editing of this sequence fit in with the genre of the thriller? Justify your opinion.

It fits in with the genre of the thriller as it builds tension by focusing on certain things such as mood and atmosphere and objects. there are various scenes with fast paced music in the background.

The camerawork movie and the crooping exercise

What did you have to do and what was the purpose of the task?

In the lesson we watched a clip of the movie, bad, ugly and the good. Here we analyzed different types of camera shots e.g. long shot, extreme close up and close up. Using this scene we made our own version by taking pictures of ourselves and turning it into a movie using a programme called I movie. We then took a range of pictures using different types of shots to give an effect on the movie. The purpose of this task was so we could understand the different types of shots used in the particular scene and how producers use them.
We then learnt how to crop pictures using a programme called Adobe Photoshop. The purpose of this task was so we could crop pictures so we could focus on one thing.

What have you learnt in terms of skills, key concepts and ideas?

From this task we learnt how to take different types of shots with a camera to convey certain things like how to change the tension of something or the mood. I also learn' t the shots mostly used in film such as extreme close up and close up. Furthermore I learnt how to crop pictures on a programme called Adobe Photoshop. This was useful as I could then focus on one thing in the picture. I also learnt how to make a still image movie on a special proggrame called imovie.

What would you do differently if you had the chance? What lessons have you learnt in terms of pre-production / production; in other words, how will you be more efficient next time?

If I had the chance to do this again I would first plan my movie stating what types of pictures would be used for what camera angle. This would allow me to create a movie that tell some sort of story. I would have used a range of shots rather than the same ones like establishing shot and overhead. This would show my understanding of how shots can be used to show diffrent things.
